TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These Terms and Conditions apply to all repair, maintenance and MOT services carried out by the Garage.
DEFINITIONS
- “The Garage” means Dolmans Garage Ltd, Birmingham.
- “The Customer” means any person or business requesting our services.
- “Work” means all services carried out including MOT testing, repairs, servicing and diagnostics.
- “Price” means the total cost including parts, labour, VAT and any additional charges.
- “Vehicle” means any car, van or motorhome owned by the Customer.
These Terms apply once a booking is made online, by phone or in person.
By booking, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old
- You are legally able to enter a contract
- You are based in the UK
THE WORK
- We aim to complete all work within the agreed timeframe. Delays may occur due to parts availability or unforeseen issues.
- If a previous job runs over time, your booking may be delayed. We will inform you as soon as possible.
- You may cancel if delays occur. Any labour completed or parts used will still be charged.
We will always:
- Provide a quote before starting work
- Get approval before any additional work
- Inform you immediately if extra repairs are needed
Handing over your vehicle keys confirms acceptance of the quote and these Terms.
Parts used will be:
- Manufacturer standard or equivalent quality
- If different parts are required, we will explain and get your approval.
Replaced parts:
- Available for inspection until collection
- Can be taken away with a refundable surcharge
- Disposed of if not required
Remove all personal items from your vehicle. We are not responsible for loss or damage to belongings.
PAYMENT
We retain the right to keep the vehicle until full payment is made.
Payment methods:
- Cash
- Bank transfer
- Debit or credit card
Payment is due immediately after invoicing.
We will return the vehicle once payment clears.
Invoices include:
- Full breakdown of parts and labour
- VAT included
Special order parts:
- Must be paid in advance
- Non-refundable
- May include handling charges
Unpaid invoices:
- May incur interest at 2% above the Bank of England base rate
- May result in vehicle sale after 30 days' notice
Vehicle collection:
- Must be within 2 days of completion
- Storage charged at £25 per day plus VAT after this
WARRANTY
We provide a 6-month or 6,000-mile warranty on parts and labour, whichever comes first.
Warranty covers:
- Faulty parts supplied and fitted by us
- Workmanship issues
Warranty does not cover:
- Misuse or abnormal wear
Modified or performance vehicles unless declared
Failure to follow advice or instructions
You must:
- Return the vehicle to us for inspection
- Allow us to fix the issue
Warranty is:
- Non-transferable
- Only valid for the original customer
CUSTOMER SUPPLIED PARTS
We do not provide warranty on customer-supplied parts.
We are not responsible for:
- Faults caused by these parts
- Damage resulting from their use
Labour costs still apply.
CANCELLATION
You can cancel at any time.
If work has started:
- Labour and parts used must be paid
Special order parts:
- Non-refundable
INSURANCE AND LIABILITY
We hold valid public liability insurance.
We are not responsible for:
- Indirect or consequential losses
- Loss due to failure to follow advice
- Items left in the vehicle
Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
COMPLAINTS
Submit complaints in writing within 28 days.
We will:
- Acknowledge within 10 working days
- Aim to resolve within 15 working days
You must allow us to investigate before contacting third parties.
ABUSE POLICY
We do not tolerate abusive behaviour.
We may:
- Refuse service
- Ask you to leave
- Contact authorities if required
DATA PROTECTION
- Your data is stored securely for service and communication purposes.
- We do not share data without consent unless required by law.
- You can request removal from our database at any time.
FORCE MAJEURE
We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our control such as:
- Supply issues
Weather
Power failure
Government action
LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
